Road haulage, 25 million for vehicle renewal
The announcement had been made last July by the Ministry of Transport with representatives of trade associations. The decree allocating 25 million euros for the renewal of vehicles used in road transport for the year 2024 has now been published in the Official Gazette.
The resources will be earmarked for the purchase of alternative traction vehicles, Euro 6 vehicles, as well as trailers and semi-trailers. In more detail, the text clarifies that:
- 2.5 million will be earmarked for the acquisition of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes with an alternative drive using Cng, Lng, hybrid (diesel/electric) or electric (full electric), as well as for the acquisition of devices for converting to electric drive vehicles;
- 15 million will go to support the scrapping of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, with the simultaneous acquisition of Euro VI step E and Euro 6 E;
- 7.5 million is earmarked for the acquisition of trailers and semi-trailers for combined rail and sea transport, energy-efficient ATP transport and intermodal transport of hazardous liquids.
The decree also states that the eligible contribution for each company may not exceed EUR 550,000. The vehicles may also be acquired through leasing, but in any case they must remain at the disposal of the beneficiary until 30 June 2028.
