From the Arctic Circle to Munich powered only by electricity: Europe’s first long-distance electric freight journey

German manufacturer Man has successfully completed an ambitious European tour with its new eTGX electric truck, equipped with batteries capable of delivering up to 500 km of range.

The journey, which began on March 20, was divided into seven stages covering daily distances between 400 and 600 km. Starting from the snowy landscapes of Finnish Lapland, the truck passed through cities such as Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, Hamburg, Schweinfurt, and finally Munich.

Throughout the 3,000-kilometre route, the vehicle used only public charging infrastructure, putting to the test the real-world capabilities of long-haul electric transport in Northern Europe. The initiative marks a significant step forward in the shift towards sustainable mobility in the field of heavy-duty logistics.
