The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport (MIT) announced in recent weeks that the decree signed in agreement with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) setting out the procedures for the disbursement of the 10 million euro fund for the development of intermodal urban cycle routesis ready. It is, to be precise, an allocation of 2 million for 2023 and4 million for each of the years 2024 and 2025.
The measurealso promotes the use of local public transport and rail services and therefore, in implementation of the General Plan for Cycling Mobility, finances through the Fund interventions for theconstruction of new cycle routes and supporting infrastructure.
Recipients of the funds are municipalities, metropolitan cities and unions of municipalities, which may submit an application to the Directorate-General for Local and Regional Public Transport and Sustainable Public Mobility of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
