TRA 2024, the most important EU conference on cross-modal transport research, is around the corner and will be held in Dublin from 15 to 18 April. DISCO EU project hosted in the ALICE Innovation Village. FIT will be there participating to two paper sessions, a poster session, and a special session.
In 2024, Transport Research Arena (TRA) takes place in Dublin, Ireland from 15 to 18 April. This year, the claim is “Transport Transitions: Advancing Sustainable and Inclusive Mobility”. TRA is the foremost European transport event that covers all transport modes and all aspects of mobility. It is the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility.
We are so proud to be there with two paper sessions, a poster session, and a special session!
In addition, we will be exhibitor with a stand to the DISCO project, coordinated by FIT, hosted, together with other most important EU projects, by the ALICE Innovation Village.

- Paola Cossu, CEO FIT, will be panelist in Special session 2.3 Innovation in Urban Logistics: Public and Private Sectors Thriving Together scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 from 9:45 am to 11:00 am in Hall 8A-3 (Simmonscourt).
The session, organized by Yanying Li (ALICE), Raffaele Vergnani (POLIS) and Caroline Alméras (ECTRI), and moderated by Octavia Stepan (CINEA), aims to share successful experiences and lessons learnt in urban logistics from EU-funded R&I projects and create a common vision of using innovative solutions for zero emission urban freight transport. The session invites speakers from the public and private sectors to share their experiences and lessons learnt, to discuss the way forward to enable using innovative solutions including innovative business models to help decarbonising urban logistics in European cities.
Speakers: Paola Cossu, FIT; Ioanna Fergadiotou, Inlecom; Manon Lecrey, Interface Transport; Angela Nuñez Gonzalez, Correos; Sergio Fernández Balaguer, Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid; Raffaele Vergnani, POLIS.
- Fabio Cartolano, Managing Director FIT, will participate in the TS 2.4.4 session Urban Freight -Scenarios, Planning and Space Allocation – scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm (Hall 3C-Serpentine Hall) – presenting two research papers. The first one, dedicated to the FlexCurb project, co-funded by EIT Urban Mobility. The title is “FlexCurb is a solution for Curbside management evaluating regulations, identifying allocation imbalances, optimising public spaces”, and it is scheduled from 2:45 pm to 3 pm.
The second one, is “Trends and scenarios of urban logistics in EU: a survey in 21 greater cities”, and it is scheduled from 3:15 pm to 3:30 pm.
- Paola Astegiano, Senior Project Manager FIT, will participate in Poster Session 3.4 Logistics and Sustainable Transport – scheduled for Tuesday, April 16 from 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm (Hall 8C-Poster Area Simmonscourt, Stage 4) with a poster on the EU DISCO Project, coordinated by FIT. The title of the flash presentation is: “Data-driven and Dynamic Land Use for Physical Internet-led Urban Logistics and Planning”.
