The second edition of Urban Logistics Innovation Day, an event organised by POLIS Network and ALICE in cooperation with DISCO Project, coordinated by FIT, is taking place today in Brussels.
The event aims to bring #innovation practitioners in Urban Logistics sector and forward-think cities and regions:
- To promote use of #InnovativeTechnologies (e.g. Physical Internet) to help cities and business to meet their sustainable goals
- To discuss trends and challenges and foster potential opportunities for cooperation
- To facilitate dialogue between public and private sectors for enabling policy framework toward zero emission urban freight.
Paola Cossu, CEO FIT and Co-Chair of the Thematic Group on Urban Logistics at ALICE, opened the day that will feature several guests and penels dedicated to the topic of Physical Internet, Digitisation and Sustainable Urban Logistics.
The Urban Logistics Innovation Day represents an important visibility opportunity for DISCO, a Horizon Europe project pushing selected European cities towards a Physical-Internet approach and aiming to overcome possible trade-offs between the accessibility of goods and services, quality of life and environmental aspects by requiring fewer kilometres travelled to deliver the same amount of goods.
